Behind My Banner

The Look:

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans and Shoes: Target

So my incredibly talented friend, Katy, took these pictures of me for my banner. She is very creative and I knew she could help me achieve the aesthetic I was looking for. I wanted it to look like I was exploding out of my wardrobe. Or “coming out of the closet” if you will. And I will. So thanks Katy!

Borrowed Birthday Balloons

The Look:

Dress, Tights, Shoes and Jacket: Target, Shirt: Old Navy, Earrings and Necklace: Dustee’s, Bracelets: Accessory City, Rings: Gift from Aunt Lisa, Nail Polish: Lady Like by Essie and Manhattan by NYC

This past Saturday while walking from place to place downtown, I found some sad, discarded birthday balloons. So I took them with me to each place we went and it just happened to be someone’s birthday. It was super fun. And I had a Sex & The City moment with the balloons in the air while walking downtown. That was even more fun!

Cheap Chic

The Look:

Jeans: Old Navy, Shirt: Wal-Mart, Shoes: Target (on sale for less than $10), Earrings: Cato, Watch: Charming Charlie, Bracelet: Accessory City, Nail Polish: Tough Taupe by Sally Hansen

I’m pretty sure this outfit was super cheap. Yes, I shop at Wal-Mart and K-Mart and yes, I look damn good. Not to sound narcissistic, but I do not think that you have to buy expensive things to look good. I like things that look unique and different, no matter if it is from a thrift store, a boutique, or a superstore. So buy what you like, but never buy it full price.

Get Out Of Bed You Daisy Head

The Look:

Sweater: Alloy.com, Jeans: Old Navy, Shoes: K-Mart, Earrings and Bracelet: Brighton, Watch: Wal-Mart, Glasses: Prive

When I got this sweater I knew I had to wear it the next time I went to visit my Mom. Because the perfectly matching jewelry belongs to her. Sad face. I’ve worn the sweater again since then and it just feels wrong to separate them. I tried to give my Mom the sweater, but no luck. I’ll just be on the lookout for different daisy accessories. And this is the first post with my new glasses. I love the lace-like detail.

And my Mom’s dog, Sooner, was feeling a little left out so I had to get a shot of her too. Isn’t she precious?!

Non-Dairy

The Look:

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Target, Shoes: K-Mart ($5), Vest: Gap, Watch: Charming Charlie, Rings: Avon and Gift from Aunt Lisa, Earrings: Dustee’s, Lipstick: Just So by Rimmel, Eyeshadow: Dazzling Metallics by CoverGirl

Well, I’m back from being under the weather! I had an allergic reaction to who knows what (me thinks it is dairy related). A trip to the ER, a few shots in the rear, and a bottle of dye-free benadryl and I feel like a real person again. However, I feel the need to dip grilled cheeses in ranch dressing and then wash it down with some buttermilk. Just kidding, that’s disgusting, but I’m sad that I can’t. Any one else have an adult onset allergy tale?
