The Birds & The Blues

The Look:

Dress, Tights & Cardigan: Target, Belt: Rue 21, Boots: Wal-Mart (People always think they are Steve Madden and I let them continue to think that), Earrings, Necklace & Watch: Charming Charlie, Bracelets: Forever 21, Rings: Family Heirlooms, Nail Polish: Sea Green by Love & Beauty for Forever 21, Lipstick: Wow Purple by Clinique

So apparently this tree/bush/flower grows everywhere in Birmingham. We found some outside my apartment and downtown. I need to find out what it is cause the color is amazing. Anybody know? XOXO

Pink & Plaid

The Look:

Jeggings & Shoes: Target, Collared Shirt: Old Navy, Sweater: Gap, Glasses: Prive, Jewelry: They were all gifts, Watch: Wal-Mart, Nail Polish, Sea Green by Love & Beauty at Forever 21, Lipstick: Milani Lip Flash in Photo Flash

My BF is still here from MI and we found some old mix tapes from when we were in college. We did some amazing car singing. XOXO

Worldly Things

The Look:

Jeans: Amethyst via Martin’s, Shirt & Shoes: Old Navy, Purse: Steve Madden via T.J. Maxx, Belt: Target, Bracelets: Forever 21, Watch: Charming Charlie, Earrings: Dustee’s, Nail Polish: Sea Green by Love & Beauty at Forever 21, Sunglasses: RayBan, Lipstick: Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in Forever Raisin

My BF from college is here all week to see me! So naturally, we went thrifting and then some other fun shopping. She spotted this photo opportunity outside World Market, which got a lot of my business that day. I got a wicked awesome poster that I’m slightly in love with. XOXO

Behind My Banner

The Look:

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans and Shoes: Target

So my incredibly talented friend, Katy, took these pictures of me for my banner. She is very creative and I knew she could help me achieve the aesthetic I was looking for. I wanted it to look like I was exploding out of my wardrobe. Or “coming out of the closet” if you will. And I will. So thanks Katy!

Borrowed Birthday Balloons

The Look:

Dress, Tights, Shoes and Jacket: Target, Shirt: Old Navy, Earrings and Necklace: Dustee’s, Bracelets: Accessory City, Rings: Gift from Aunt Lisa, Nail Polish: Lady Like by Essie and Manhattan by NYC

This past Saturday while walking from place to place downtown, I found some sad, discarded birthday balloons. So I took them with me to each place we went and it just happened to be someone’s birthday. It was super fun. And I had a Sex & The City moment with the balloons in the air while walking downtown. That was even more fun!

Cheap Chic

The Look:

Jeans: Old Navy, Shirt: Wal-Mart, Shoes: Target (on sale for less than $10), Earrings: Cato, Watch: Charming Charlie, Bracelet: Accessory City, Nail Polish: Tough Taupe by Sally Hansen

I’m pretty sure this outfit was super cheap. Yes, I shop at Wal-Mart and K-Mart and yes, I look damn good. Not to sound narcissistic, but I do not think that you have to buy expensive things to look good. I like things that look unique and different, no matter if it is from a thrift store, a boutique, or a superstore. So buy what you like, but never buy it full price.

Get Out Of Bed You Daisy Head

The Look:

Sweater: Alloy.com, Jeans: Old Navy, Shoes: K-Mart, Earrings and Bracelet: Brighton, Watch: Wal-Mart, Glasses: Prive

When I got this sweater I knew I had to wear it the next time I went to visit my Mom. Because the perfectly matching jewelry belongs to her. Sad face. I’ve worn the sweater again since then and it just feels wrong to separate them. I tried to give my Mom the sweater, but no luck. I’ll just be on the lookout for different daisy accessories. And this is the first post with my new glasses. I love the lace-like detail.

And my Mom’s dog, Sooner, was feeling a little left out so I had to get a shot of her too. Isn’t she precious?!

Non-Dairy

The Look:

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Target, Shoes: K-Mart ($5), Vest: Gap, Watch: Charming Charlie, Rings: Avon and Gift from Aunt Lisa, Earrings: Dustee’s, Lipstick: Just So by Rimmel, Eyeshadow: Dazzling Metallics by CoverGirl

Well, I’m back from being under the weather! I had an allergic reaction to who knows what (me thinks it is dairy related). A trip to the ER, a few shots in the rear, and a bottle of dye-free benadryl and I feel like a real person again. However, I feel the need to dip grilled cheeses in ranch dressing and then wash it down with some buttermilk. Just kidding, that’s disgusting, but I’m sad that I can’t. Any one else have an adult onset allergy tale?

Boots & Boys

The Look:

Dress: Target (it’s reversible), Cardigan: Target, Tights: Rue 21, Boots: Wal-Mart, Bracelets: Dustee’s, Ring: Gift from Summer

As the greatest poet of our time, Ke$ha, said, “there’s something ’bout boots and boys.” And aren’t these boots awesome?! I bought them several years ago for a Halloween costume (I was Ace Ventura), and they ended up being one of my favorites. And as I’ve said before, I love the mix of hard and soft!

Swag

The Look:

Jeggings: Old Navy, Shirt: Old Navy, Cardigan: Target, Flats: Target, Jacket: Target, Watch: Wal-Mart, Bracelets: Brighton (gift from Grandma Carol) and Lucky Brand (gift from Aunt Lisa), Rings: T.J. Maxx and Forever 21, Earrings: Brighton (gift from Mom), Eyeshadow: Thrill Seeker by Rimmel, Nail Polish: Lady Like by Essie, Lipstick: Rave by Rimmel

So, I got some new awesome bangs. I feel so trendy. Someone even said they like my new swag (I think that’s a compliment). I’m guessing it was the combo of my new hair and awesome jacket. I love the mix of hard and soft with the bad-ass jacket and cardigan flowing out from it. I’m sure there will be more similar looks. See you soon!
